On August 26 Children’s Health Defense NY Will Be Hosting a Homeschooling Meet & Greet and an Introduction To HomeSchooling Class !!

This event will introduce homeschooling to parents and will also serve as a meet and greet for parents that already homeschool !!

Learn the basics of homeschooling, the state requirements, the benefits, and the many myths that you might have heard.

Come hear from experienced home schooling parents !!

If you already homeschool, come and meet other homeschooling families !!

This Event is a fundraiser for Children’s Health Defense NY. We Suggest a donation Of $20.

There are 2 Tickets options. Suggested Donation & Free Ticket. All Donations Will Go To CHD NY to help them continue their important work

In addition to learning about home schooling, you will be supporting Children’s Health Defense NY. Every ticket purchased will be a donation to CHD NY to help them continue their important work.

Meet The Speakers:

Arlene Astacio Former DOE Teacher & CEO of Molding Mind’s Academy

After Religious Exemptions were taken away from Children in New York, Arlene decided to step up and create a place where all children are accepted and can learn. She believes that we should have freedom of choice in what we want to do with our children and what is being taught to our children.

Molding Minds Academy is where parents can feel at ease with their children learning, They allow our children to learn outside of the box.

Jennifer Castaneda

Jennifer is an herbalist and homeschool mother of three who runs a small homeschooling co-op with other like-minded mothers. Her emphasis is teaching core family values and being intune with nature and the seasons. Jennifer strongly believes that children should be geared in a way that caters to their emotional and educational needs to thrive in life.

Bonnie Skala Kiladitis

Former DOE Teacher, Bonnie has been homeschooling her child since 2019 when religious exemptions were taken away from children in New York. She will share her experiences and tips.

Zoraida Quiles

Zoraida is a mother of two teenagers from Brooklyn NY. She has been her children’s primary academic educator since 2016.

Prior to homemaking, she worked in the managed healthcare industry as a provider relations representative for over 10 years, volunteered for over 10 years as a Sunday school teacher, and was a PTA president for two years at the school where her children attended prior to homeschool.
