New York: How did your Assemblymember vote on the Repeal of the Religious Exemption?

New York: How did your Assemblymember vote on the Repeal of the Religious Exemption?

June 13 marked the third anniversary of the repeal of the religious exemption from vaccine mandates to attend school in New York. When former Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the bill all New York parents lost the right to make vaccine decisions for their children consistent with their beliefs, and 27,000 students lost their right to a public or private education.

We are weeks away from the primary for the Assembly on June 28th, and it is important to remember how your Assemblymember voted on this crucial issue.

The name of your Assemblymember should appear in the panel to the right.

Please use the panel to send a message to your Assemblymember asking him or her  who they think should be making vaccine decisions for you and your children. If they respond to your question please send that to us at john.gilmore@childrenshealthdefense.org

Check the list below to see how your Assemblymember voted on the repeal.  If your Assemblymember is not on the list that means they have left the Assembly or are not running for re-election to the Assembly in this year’s election.

This year’s election is confusing mess. The primary for the Assembly, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor will be held on June 28.  The Primary for State Senators and members for Congress will be held on August 23. With the general election for all offices held on November 8.

The list below contains the name, party and district of every member of the Assembly who was in office on June 13, 2019, and how they voted on the repeal of the religious exemption. If you do not see the name of your current Assemblymember below that means they were not a member of the Assembly on June 13, 2019. Please keep this in mind when you vote on June 28.

The State Senate primary will be held on August 23. We will be providing information on how the incumbents voted on the religious exemptions before that election.
